Prague Christmas Portraits & Pre-Wedding Portrait Photography Specials in Prague!

Jason had a very big surprise for Bethany when she arrived to meet up with him in Prague: a stunning engagement ring!

And if that was not enough, his other surprise was a romantic engagement portrait session taken on the streets of Prague on a wonderful autumn night. Yes, southerners are that romantic!

As Jason and Bethany hail from the American south (like yours truly) I really wanted to do something very special for them – so an evening portrait session was planned. We do many sessions here but for me there is nothing more special than an evening session where you can relax and enjoy the solitude of Prague castle or some of our favorite cobblestone streets. Prague at night is truly romantic and unlike other cities that I have photographed in I simply love the atmosphere here. It is that special of a place especially when you have a wonderful couple like Bethany & Jason who really enjoyed their time.

In the end there were so many beautiful images that Martina and I had two very different edits (and came up with a mixture of both edits presented here). As you can see, we do things a bit differently with our engagement portrait sessions, and what truly matters is that a wonderful couple have a great time in a beautiful city on a very special night – as a photographer to capture the feeling of moments like this for a wonderful couple is the biggest reward of all!

To Bethany & Jason, it was a real pleasure creating these images on your behalf and I hope you receive a lifetime of joy out of them! I wish you both much love & success together! And I look forward to seeing you two again in the New Year!

Rita & Jim are simply one of my favorite couples I have worked with this year!

The idea was simple, create lots of stylish portraits (and especially lots of portraits of the stunning Rita) and to experience Prague on a beautiful fall day. So with four wardrobe changes and beautiful Prague weather we traveled around various locations. And as you can see they really enjoyed themselves and I truly enjoyed creating these images on their behalf.

To Rita & Jim, thank you both for choosing me to be your portrait photographer here in Prague! I hope you get a lifetime of enjoyment out of these beautiful images created on your behalf.

Big News! We have just been selected to be the first and only wedding & portrait photographer in the Czech Republic to become a member of the British association – ‘The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers!’ I am very proud to have been selected for this outstanding organization of my peers!

Congratulations to a wonderful couple: Maria & Vladimir who recently had a beautiful autumn wedding here in Prague!

Maria & Vladimir traveled down from Moscow with family & friends to marry at Prague’s historic Old Town Hall. After the ceremony we enjoyed a bit of time for some champagne before two very large limos and a Mercedes whisked the wedding party around to various locations around Prague as we created some stunning portraits of our newlyweds.

As you can see they are a fantastic couple and everyone was having a great time as we headed off for some portraits around Prague Castle.

Later after our portrait session in the heart of Mala Strana, Vladimir and Maria took out a small lock that they had engraved with their name and wedding date and walked over to a small bridge where many couples in Prague stop off to pronounce their love for each other. This is not altogether a new custom here in Prague but it is one that I particularly enjoy – especially as the location is within view of the wonderful Charles Bridge and is that much more romantic especially at night. I am sure years later when Maria & Vladimir return to Prague they will be making a small stop to see if their lucchetti is still right where they placed it.

To Maria & Vladimir, I wish you both much love and future success together! It was great finally meeting you two and being a part of your wonderful wedding day here in Prague! I truly hope you get a lifetime of enjoyment out of these images created on your behalf.

Congratulations to Mary & Sven one of our latest couple to have a beautiful autumn wedding here in Prague!

Mary & Sven chose to wed at Ledeburska garden a truly unique baroque architectural gem that is a favorite of not only couples wishing to marry in Prague but of wedding & portriat photographers like myself. The gardens are literally underneath Prague Castle and on a day like Mary & Sven’s wedding there simply is not a better place in Prague to marry than here.

With many family & guests coming in from around Europe and the United States it was a truly international yet intimate family affair.
While their reception was going on we took leave of our guests for a few minutes to explore the beauty of the gardens as well as create some beautiful portraits of Mary & Sven. Later it was a short walk up the hill to the 400-year old Castle Steps Hotel which overs truly breathtaking views of the Prague Skyline.

To Mary & Sven, a truly wonderful couple and I wish you both much love & success in your future together! Thank you again for selecting me to be your wedding photographer in Prague!

Katie & Colin are one of those couples that portrait photographers dream about; fun, sexy, interested in trying new things and will not let the small things like: freezing cold weather, rain and yes, even some sleet, slow them down on their Prague Portrait Session. I love Canadians!

We truly had a great time creating these images and if you look hard enough you will even see the rain in some of our images! As Katie & Colin enjoy a mixture of styles of wedding portraits (a bit of traditional, contemporary, B+W and color) it was a daunting task to edit down our favorites to post here. Which is why Martina took over and created this beautiful and fun edit for me. So let us know what you think about our latest work with a truly fantastic couple.

Congratulations to our latest couple to marry here in Prague: Nina & David!

Nina & David traveled down from the UK with their close family & friends to wed at St. Clement’s Church in the heart of Prague. It was a beautiful ceremony in the very simple church that is quite popular with the expat community. After their ceremony and a round of celebrations and congratulations, we headed off to Vrtbovska Zahrada to create some stunning portraits of our newlyweds on a truly beautiful fall day.

When I create portraits of couples it is important to allow them time to enjoy their surroundings and more importantly each other, with Nina & David that was the easy part as they really took in the stunning views of Vrtbovska.

We also headed off to a very popular destination here in Prague for wedding portraits, the John Lennon Wall which now looks much better and is again on our places to visit for wedding photography. With a few final images at the famous Astronomical Clock in Staromestske Namesti, it was time to take leave of Nina & David as they went to join up with family & friends at their reception.

To Nina & David, I wish you both much love and future success together. I truly hope you enjoy the images we created on your behalf. And perhaps one day we will meet up again here in Prague or in the UK. All the best, Kurt

yes, it is true. I am finally leaving for a vacation (ok, only a small one) to catch up with dear friends in Ireland who are promising me wonderful weather for our journeys to the coast. Soooo, I will not be answering e-mails or even the dreaded mobile until I get back on the 23rd. But I promise to get caught up with everyone when I return as we are all taking a short break here before returning to photograph more fall weddings here in Prague!

Congratulations to a truly sweet couple Cecile & Francois who recently married here in Prague!

Cecile & Francois flew in from Hong Kong to marry at Prague’s St. Nicholas Church with many family & friends who traveled from all around the  world to share in their wedding day. Though this was one of those rare occasions where I did not meet the bride and groom prior to their wedding day, everything worked out very smoothly as they were in the hands of Prague’s best wedding coordinator Andrea Hamanova of Bohemia Events.

As with all of Andrea’s weddings, the attention to details was first rate and their choice of Zofin for the reception and dinner on a truly wonderful  fall day was superb.

Presented here are a few of our favorites that we believe tell a small story of their wedding day. And as you can see Cecile & Francois had a truly beautiful Prague wedding and I hope the wedding photography created on their behalf speaks for itself.

I am often asked by photographers about my Black & White and the truth of the matter is – I do not use Greyscale in Photoshop. I instead will use software programs that truly create the look and feel of real black and white films. But the key to really wonderful Black & White photography and yes, even wedding photography is to really use the light that you have, to concentrate on using and even exploiting the ambient light.  Something to think about!
