Yvonne & Adam: An English and Czech/German wedding in Prague, Czech Republic.

Yvonne & Adam's Wedding Photography at St. Ludmila in Prague by Wedding Photographer Kurt Vinion

Wedding Photographers including myself have been struggling with the weather lately… It seemed that every week we have had great weather but then it becomes terrible just in time for the weekends. So last week when Adam and his beautiful fiance Yvonne flew in from London with their family & friends for their Thursday wedding in Prague – it was a surprise that the weather was fine. Actually ‘fine’ is an understatement, it was in a word gorgeous!

Overlooking a beautiful silhouette of the Prague Castle, we started our day at the Pachtuv Palace Hotel, where Yvonne was getting prepared in her stunning wedding gown. After a quick session of portraits of the lovely bride we headed off to the church where family & friends were waiting.

For the wedding ceremony Yvonne and Adam chose the Neo-Gothic Church of St. Ludmila dominating the Namesti Miru square. The first wedding I have ever photographed in Prague was at this church and I have always felt that this amazing place was under-utilized as a wedding venue, so it was great getting back there.

After the ceremony we followed the newly-weds up to the Strahov Monastery, a favorite site of wedding photographers trying to escape the city center with the heavy concentration of tourists crowding for a shot. When you are looking for some magnificent architectural gems and calm, almost soothing atmosphere, this is an ideal place for you!

Though we have many photographs (and yes, all originally in color), I wanted to present a small sample of what a reportage (or documentary) wedding photography in Prague looks like. And with this very stylish and good-looking couple I felt that it really suited their taste.

Feel free to comment on the photos and let us know what you think! After all that’s what this blog should be about!
Much love & success to a wonderful couple Yvonne & Adam!

Kurt
PS: Special thanks to the wonderfully talented Martina Olbertova who knows good prose like I know photos – thank god! And a special thanks to Andrea Hamanova of Bohemia Events for keeping us on schedule and taking us around Prague!
